Hundreds of people turned out to take part in the Frost Fair in St Leonards.
The colourful event was a real celebration of the community with businesses and residents joining forces to take part.
Ironically it turned out to be one of the warmest days of late November as the sun shone down making it feel like more than spring than late autumn and the onset of winter.
There was a parade, street entertainment, a winter market and festive food. People dressed up in white and painted their faces white to take part in the parade in and around St Leonards.
The businesses and community groups that took part in the event included BOBO flowers, Pentacle drummers, Chamelionic drummers, Rattlebag, Fipple concert, Drayhorse shires, The Seaview choir and Hastings Guerilla Circus, Hair Design, Georgina Piper, Smiths, the Co-op, The Oak Bakery, St Leonards Marketplace.
Hastings Borough Council, Sussex Police, the Central St Leonards Town team, Gensing and Central St Leonards community forum and played a role in making the event a success.
A spokesman for St Leonards Business Association said: “We would like to thank all the local businesses that have contributed towards the lights and event.
“But most of all the public that came out to give us their overwhelming support.” For more pictures visit: www.hastingsobserver.co.uk/news/local/sun-shines-on-frost-fair-1-6451797.
