‘Hundreds’ of Hastings homes currently without power

A couple of hundred homes in the Hastings area are without electricity this morning (Sunday, November 15) as strong winds have damaged power cables.

A spokesperson for UK Power Networks said electricity has been restored to the majority of properties by redirecting their supply through different parts of the overhead network.

However, ‘a couple of hundred homes’ are still without power and engineers are currently working in the area to fix the problem.

It is thought the overhead network was affected by strong winds gusting through the coastal region this weekend.

UK Power Networks do not yet know how long the problem will take to fix.
