THERE was star quality aplenty as more than 100 young hopefuls auditioned for this year’s White Rock Theatre summer youth production.
Following the massive success of the Madness musical Our House last year, this year the seafront theatre is putting on The Wedding Singer, an hilarious musical based on the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler.
And the competition for parts is tougher than ever, with 140 youngsters aged between eight and 18 put through their paces at last week’s open auditions.
Tracy White, community liaison manager at the theatre, said: “There was a lot of good talent on show and we are really looking forward to it. It is a really good show and it is the first time we have done a musical comedy. The kids are really excited because they all know the film.
“We always do more modern stuff and I think we pull it off,” she added.
