SCORES of artists displayed their work at St Michael’s Hospice’s 15th Annual Summer Art Exhibition, raising more than £2,400 for the charity.

Opened by Radio 2 presenter Alex Lester, more than 100 artists showed their work and, with 570 exhibits, visitors enjoyed variety of interesting pieces.

Amanda Hildreth, community fundraiser at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “We would like to say a very big thank you to all our artists who submitted their work and to everyone who visited the exhibition. This event wouldn’t have been possible without the support and driving force from Sue Farndale, Tony Parker and Rebecca Parker, they did a wonderful job and worked extremely hard to make the weekend the success it was

“We would also like to thank Cllr Judy Rogers, the Deputy Mayor, who attended the preview event.”

The hospice is already planning next year’s event, which is due to take place on June 27 and 28, and it will also be running next year’s Big Easter Art Exhibition in Pett. For more information about exhibiting artwork, contact Amanda on 01424 456371.
