Hospice to holdLights of Lovein December
People will be able to remember their loved ones when St Michael’s Hospice holds its Lights of Love event next month.
Lights of Love is a service where you can commemorate lost loved ones by dedicating a star or a heart which will then be placed on a Christmas tree.
There will be trees in nine locations across the Hastings and Rother area including Battle, Bexhill on the sea, Hastings Old Town, Hastings Crematorium, Rye, Ticehurst and at the Hospice in St Leonards.
This year Ninfield and Winchelsea will also be hosting a Lights of Love service.
Whether your loved one received the care of St Michael’s Hospice or not, young or old, local or further afield, all can be remembered with Lights of Love. Each star or heart will be placed next to a light on a tree at the location of your choice and the stars remain on the trees until New Year’s Eve.
Services take place in eight locations on Sunday December 6 at 3pm, with tree lighting ceremonies at 4pm.
Additionally there will be a non-religious service at the Hospice in St Leonards on Sea on Wednesday 9th December at 6pm.
Perdita Chamberlain, Head of Fundraising at St Michael’s Hospice, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ninfield and Winchelsea as new venues this year and to be working again with Little Down Farm in Westfield who donate the majority of our Christmas trees.
“Lights of Love offers a tangible way to remember your loved one at Christmas time.
“We are delighted to bring the services and trees to venues across Hastings and Rother giving people across our catchment area the opportunity to connect with the Hospice and remember their loved ones.”
