Campaigning students from Collyer's in Horsham have called for cheaper travel fares for 16 and 17 year olds.

The group argue that teenagers who are legally children, on a child’s wage and in full-time education should not have to pay adult fares.

Currently, passengers aged 16 and over are charged adult fares by providers such as Southern Rail and Metrobus.

In a matter of days, an online petition started by the students behind the ‘FareTravel’ campaign has amassed hundreds of signatures.
