Home-Start volunteers needed

The next preparation course to train helpers to befriend and support families with children under five starts in the town in late May.

Home-Start Arun, based in the Queensway, has 35 volunteers who supported 112 families last year through home visiting and two family groups.

Scheme manager Bridget Richardson said: "If people don't want to train as a home visiting volunteer, we have vacancies on our management committee and can always do with help fundraising, or helping out with trips or Christmas parties.

"There's enough work to go around."
