Helping hand for small businesses

A £65,400 grant has been awarded for business skills training in Seaford.

Seaford Head Community College assistant headteacher Christine Hart led the bid for cash to provide free training to employers and employees of Seaford small businesses of fewer than 10 people.

Christine, who is responsible for adult education, obtained the money from SEEDA (South East England Development Agency).

A pair of training co-ordinators, who are both IT tutors and advice workers, will visit small businesses and discuss training needs after the scheme's official launch on January 23.

Partners in the scheme include the Seaford Community Partnership, the Federation of Small Businesses, Eastbourne Enterprise Agency and Seaford Chamber of Commerce.
