A head-on crash involving two cars has closed the A21 at Kent Street this morning (Monday, February 22).

Emergency services were called to the scene just north of Claremont School at around 8.05am.

Police believe the cars crashed head-on.

The road has been closed to the north and south of the scene, between the A28 and Marley Lane.

As a result there is considerable congestion in the area, particularly on The Ridge and Harrow Lane and drivers are advised to avoid the area.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 178 of 22/02.
