The events are run by Alexandra Park Greenhouse Group (APGG) volunteers to raise funds for the restoration of the last remaining greenhouse in Alexandra Park depot and to use the historical 1930’s structure as a horticultural centre.

To achieve this the APGG need to raise approximately £100K. APGG were awarded £8,000 from Tesco Bags of Help scheme, which was used to restore the upper ventilation and decorative roof brackets.

Dynamic Scaffolding provided free plastic roof cover, enabling events and plant sales to continue throughout the year. Greggs the Bakers awarded the project £1,000 for cold frames, seeds and plants to enhance plants offered for sale throughout the year.

Fundraisers this weekend include Christmas wreath making in the greenhouse on Saturday, December 9, 11-2.30pm. Design and make a natural wreath, all materials provided. Children can make tree or table decorations to their own design, Guidance is available. Hot chocolate and mince pies will be served .
