The Hastings RSPB group welcome back Patrick Coulcher this evening (16th) at the Taplin Centre, Upper Maze Hill, St Leonards on Sea at 7.30 pm. Patrick will be talking about the wildlife of the Western South Downs from Lewes to Winchester Hill with diversions to Pagham Harbour and Amberley Wild Brooks. He has known the area all his life and his illustrated talk will include birds, butterflies, orchids and a little of the history of the area. All are welcome for an admission fee of £3 including light refreshments.
On Saturday 24 October there will be a coffee morning at St Mark’s Church, Little Common from 10 am -12 noon. Admission will be 50p, which includes coffee and biscuits, and there will be sales of RSPB goods, cakes ad a White Elephant stall.
Last month’s talk was on the America Ground by local historian Ken Brooks and including fascinating old photographs of this area of Hastings. Next month will be another local talk on the management of Hastings Country Park by Murray Davidson on Friday 20 November.
