HASTINGS Rock will be gracing the airwaves once again throughout this month.
The radio station, sponsored by Chase Vets, offers music fans a wide range of rock music dating back over many decades from bands and artists including Elvis to The Beatles and Radiohead to Bon Jovi.
The station has once again chosen to support St Michael’s Hospice throughout the broadcast.
Hastings Rock broadcasts for just one month a year and will be on air at 87.7FM and at www.hastingsrock.co.uk from Saturday to Friday, June 1.
This year, the station will air from the King’s Head pub and is in its 19th year of broadcasting.
Marcia Dart, the hospice’s challenge fundraiser, said: “Hastings Rock is very supportive of the hospice and we’re excited to be working together again.
“Last year the station raised more than £2,600 for the hospice through a number of fundraising activities including an end of broadcast party. As a rock music fan myself, I can’t wait for the station to get started.”
Andy Gunton, of Hastings Rock, said: “Each of the Hastings Rock presenters is passionate about rock music so listeners can be sure of a fun and diverse range of rock music dating right back from the 50s, including artists such as Chuck Berry, through to current-day artists like Foo Fighters.
“St Michael’s Hospice is a charity that is close to the hearts of many people in Hastings and Rother and it seems only fitting that we continue to support the work that it does.”
Hastings Rock will be hosting a fundraising party at The Carlisle pub in Hastings on Saturday, May 12 and the end of broadcast party will take place at the King’s Head pub in Rye Road, Hastings on June 1. All are welcome to attend.
