Hastings residents have reported being contacted by an organisation fraudulently offering them a discount on their council tax in exchange for an administration fee.

The borough council is urging residents to be vigilant and to report any incidents of suspected fraud.

“This is a scam, and the organisation have no association with Hastings Borough Council,” said Cllr Peter Chowney, the council leader.

“If you receive a call like this, don’t give them any details at all.”

To report suspected fraud to Sussex Police, email operation.signature@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
