A Hastings woman has won a huge £25,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.
Sara Tipton (56) couldn’t believe it when the team from People’s Postcode Lottery arrived at her door after TN34 3JU was drawn as a Street Prize winner on Saturday.
“I’m gobsmacked,” she said. “This is amazing and really is life changing.”
Legal advisor Sara knows exactly how she wants to spend her winnings. “I was just thinking that I need to take out a loan to finish work on my house,” she said. “We had building works going on but had to put them on hold as the funds ran out. Now I can get a new kitchen.”
Sara was joined by her partner Mick, who has some ideas of this own. “Mick is an archaeologist so would like a metal detector! I think I would like to book a holiday instead,” she said.
Danyl Johnson, People’s Postcode Lottery’s Ambassador, said: “I really enjoyed meeting Sara today and delivering the news of her win. It’s great she can use the money on her house – she won’t ever want to move out of that lucky postcode.”
Players of People’s Postcode Lottery have raised more than £148.3 Million to date for good causes across Great Britain and internationally.
A project near Hastings that has received support from players is Hastings Predators Floorball Club which was awarded over £1,000 this year to provide training kits for young people.
