Hastings Philharmonic Choir

We continue rehearsals for our Vivaldi concert on the 14th November which will consist of 3 choral pieces and ‘The Four Seasons’ for violin, played by guest performer Ӧzcan Ulucan. Some choir members are already familiar with the choral works, especially ‘Gloria’ but as always our conductor, Márcio da Silva, leads us in fresh ways of thinking about and singing this much loved music.

At the recent AGM our Chairman, Judy Appleyard, stepped down from the helm after 10 sterling years. The choir showed its appreciation with gifts including vouchers and membership options for Glyndebourne. A fitting tribute to a towering figure in local music. The new Chairman, John Read, is a longstanding choir member, has worked tirelessly on the committee and is also well known in Hastings music circles. A very popular choice.

New members are always welcome and the choir is very friendly. We meet at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road, at 7.00p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about joining call 01424 431442, visit the website at www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or just turn up and join in.
