TO complete a memorable season the choir is embarking on a series of nine workshops, open to non-members, to sing things we all enjoy, to develop singing techniques under the guidance of the choir’s charismatic conductor, Márcio da Silva, himself an acclaimed singer, and to take an early look at some of the pieces planned for next season.

These include in November, Mozart’s glorious Solemn Vespers plus works by Arvo Part and Saint-Saens, and in April 2015, Orff’s great romp, Carmina Burana. The first workshop was held on Wednesday, April 30, and included some carols so everyone could join in.

The choir is very friendly and will welcome family and friends for a token contribution to costs. For all singers from other choirs who participate in the Carmina Burana concert the sessions will be complimentary. The choir meets at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road at 7.15pm on Wednesdays.
