Colette Nolan, 34, from Hastings, is at the ChemoThermia Oncology Centre in Istanbul.

Her friends, Emma-lee Thomas and George Vidler, have set up an online fundraising page to raise money for the treatment, as £100,000 is needed. More than £13,000 has so far been raised.

Colette discovered she had a rare form of cancer in both breasts after giving birth to her son Zebedee 10 months ago. It has spread to her liver and bones despite rigorous therapy.

The ChemoThermia Oncology Centre has offered her potentially life-saving treatment.

Emma-lee said: “Colette has aggressive stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. She met with her new oncologist in Istanbul who reassured her this isn’t the worst case he has ever seen. Colette was given a scan to determine the extent of her cancer and to find out whether it had spread more. The results showed the cancer had spread in her bones but not gone to any other vital organs.

“She then began treatment where her body was heated up to 40 degrees (hyperthermia treatment).

“She has also been placed in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber and been given insulin-based low dose chemotherapy supported by vital vitamin infusions that are not offered in the UK. Colette is so willing to share all her experiences in the hope to inspire and educate others with cancer and show them there is another way.

“She has set up a YouTube channel vlogging her journey but still desperately needs every donation, big or small, to enable her to continue her treatment and get home to her boy and family.”

A fundraising event for Colette is being held on Sunday (April 2) from 10am-1pm at Icklesham Village Hall.
