A Hastings man was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a head-on collision in which another man lost his life, on the A27 Pevensey Bypass last night (Monday, March 27).
The 72-year-old man, driving a Vauxhall Agila eastbound on the A27, was flown to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, where he remains in a stable condition, following the crash at around 3.23pm.
The driver of other vehicle, a Vauxhall Corsa travelling westbound, was treated by medics but the 66-year-old man from Eastbourne was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
A third vehicle, a Citreon C3, driven by a 62-year-old man from Hastings, collided with the rear of the Vauxhall Corsa. The driver suffered a minor injury but did not go to hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision. Anyone who saw the collision or has any information should email email@example.com or ring 101 quoting Operation Littlewood.
