A Hastings church hall has had a make-over so it is in better shape for increasing community use.
The hall at Christchurch Blacklands hosts a huge range of activities over the course of the week including a toddler group and a monthly lunch club for senior citizens.
Church warden Jean Wilson said: “I am so grateful to all those who have helped us to make these changes. The hall is now a really great place to be able to welcome people.
“As the weather gets colder we want to encourage all those in our parish, and from further afield, who would value a hot meal and a bit of company once a month to get in touch and come to the lunch club.”
The Blacklands Parish Group have organised for the charity Snowflake, which provides shelter and assistance to those sleeping rough through the winter months, tpo give a talk at the Laton Road church.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm on Monday, October 19, in the hall.
It is one of the seven venues used weekly by Snowflake as the winter sets in.
Vicar Charlie Hill said: “We want to let people know that the doors of this church are wide open.
“Our buildings are for the use of the community as well as the members of the church.
“Please check the website to see what’s going on, tell us what you think, and most importantly, pay us a visit!”
