WE, at Hastings Central Townswomen’s Guild, had an interesting visit to Paradise Park, Newhaven on March 24.
We were taken by coach, arriving about 1pm. We arranged a time to meet back at the coach before setting off to explore. Some looked at the gardens, and other displays, others did some shopping and a snack and a chat.
All too soon it was time to return to the coach. Our return journey was via Alfriston to see the daffodils. They were beautiful and showed off well in the Spring sunshine. We arrived back in Hastings at 5pm, weary but delighted by a nice afternoon with friends.
On March 28 we held our AGM. The annual reports were read and committee members agreed. We took a vote to support the charity SAFE for the next two years. It was decided to give our support to a local charity who, in turn help carers to get some respite care.
The business part over, we had tea, sandwiches and cakes provided by the committee.
Our next meeting is at the Unitarian Church, South Terrace on April 25 at 2.30pm. We will be having a talk about African safaris.
Do come and join us. We are a friendly group, and you will be made very welcome. If you need to know more please phone 01424 428284.
