Our last meeting, on December 8th, was the Christmas party. After singing carols in French and English, we had a very funny quiz with some interesting features, such as a French traditional story about Saint Nicholas. The buffet afterwards was delicious.
We have a break over Christmas so our next meeting is not until January 5th, the fête des rois, the French celebration of Twelfth Night . We will eat the traditional galette des rois with a fève (small trinket) hidden in it. Whoever finds the fève will be our king and reign over the rest of the afternoon.
Anyone with an interest in French language and culture is welcome to join us at the usual place and time – 2 30 to 4 pm, Holy Redeemer church hall in Upper Church Road, St Leonards.
