Children and staff at Ark Blacklands Primary Academy celebrated Harvest Festival and donated lots of food to go to the Hastings Foodbank.

Teaching Assisitant James Bacon says the event had been a great success. “We held a whole school Harvest Festival led by Vice Principal, Natalie Rankin and myself and we had two special guest speakers,” he said.

“Chris Beveridge from the Hastings Foodbank explained about the needs in Hastings and how the situation will continue to get worse. He also spoke about the great work the Foodbank does and how the children’s kind donations will be used.

“Reverend Charlie Hill from Blacklands Church came to speak to us about the importance of Harvest and how Jesus taught about giving to the poor.

“The Harvest spectacular included music and an opportunity for year 6 to show off their art work and Year 5 children to speak eloquently on what they are thankful for
