The Happy Mondays and the Levellers will be performing two of their seminal albums in their entirety to mark their 25th anniversary on Hastings pier.
The line-up for the weekend in September includes The Orb, Turin Brakes, Formation and Ferocious Dog.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday, April 22) from 12pm.
Happy Mondays will be performing Pills ‘n’ Thrills and Bellyaches in its entirety on September 17 to mark its 25th anniversary – plus a selection of greatest hits – with support on the evening from The Orb, performing Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld in full.
Then on September 18 The Levellers will perform Levelling the Land for its 25th anniversary, with support from Turin Brakes and Ferocious Dog.
The pier originally opened in 1872 and enjoyed an iconic period when it became one of the most important venues on the music touring circuit, playing host to The Clash, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Nico, Siouxsie and the Banshees as well as the location of Syd Barrett’s last ever show with Pink Floyd.
Damaged by the infamous storms in 1990 and closed to the public between 1999 and 2002, it did re-open briefly but was finally closed in 2008.
Efforts continued to raise funds to save the pier but in October 2010 it was dealt the final blow when a devastating fire destroyed 95 per cent of its superstructure.
Unlike the iconic Brighton West pier however structural surveys concluded that the cast iron Victorian-era sub-structure was salvageable. Now six years later the final works of the £14.2m refurbishment of Hastings Pier are complete, dubbed “the People’s Pier” Hastings Pier will re-open formally for the general public for the May 2016 Bank Holiday.
Madness will perform at an opening gala on May 21.
