A HAIRDRESSER got into the Olympic spirit by designing an unusual hair piece.

Hayley Bishop, who runs her own online business, made the prop featuring the five rings of the Olympic flag.

She said: “It was made completely out of raw materials, such as pieces of wire, synthetic hair and cardboard and the ring pieces were partially stuffed. I made the entire piece myself and it took 100 hours to make.”

Hayley, of Blackman Avenue, St Leonards, designed the hair piece specifically for nine-year-old Lily.

She said: “It stands balanced on her head and her hair holds the piece upright through the bottom two rings. I also braided her hair which goes through the black ring at the top, helping to support the piece.”

Hayley is an experienced hairdresser and used to live in London. She trained at the London Beauty Institute and does hair extensions and braiding.

He next project is to design a hair piece in the shape of the heart symbol used for Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life.
