Guitars stolen from musicians house

A thief has stolen four guitars from a local musician.

The instruments were taken from a house in Warrior Square, St Leonards, while the owner was away on a week-long holiday, between August 16 and 23.

Police believe the burglar will try and sell them locally and so are urging any budding Jim Hendrixs to be on the look-out for the four prized guitars.

The first is a Fender Jagstang - a limited edition guitar made as a signature model to the specifications of the lead singer of the cult American group Nirvana, Kurt Cobain. This guitar is a bluish green colour.

The second is a Jackson Flying V. The body of this guitar is, as the name implied, in a V shape with pointed wings and is a brown/grey colour on the body.

Also missing is a BC Rich Mockingbird. The Mockingbird is a very distinctive, spikey shaped body guitar, popular with heavy metal musicians. This guitar is black and has a mirrored scratch plate mounted to the front of the body.

Lastly, there is a Paul Reed Smith SE Custom guitar. This instrument is blue/green on the front of the body, and says 'PRS' on the headstock.

It has inlays on the fret board in the shape of small crescent moons.

PC Duncan Cleverley, of Hastings Police, said: "All four of these guitars are quite distinctive in their own right and I'm sure that if local musicians were offered them they would recognise them.

"I would urge this thief to call in and let us know where they are."
