AN artist and lover of all things Hastings has created a series of cryptic postcards promoting businesses in the Old Town.
Using the iconic fishermen’s huts as a frame, each postcard invites the viewer to guess which business is represented, and some are easier than others.
The man behind them goes by the pseudonym of NetHutHero, and was inspired to design the postcards as a way of benefiting local businesses at no cost to them, and at the same time raising the profile of ilovehastings.com, a free to list website promoting the town. They have already proved quite a talking point.
He said: “That resulted in the first postcards which were left in various pubs (and the Old Town launderette), a few people made positive comments and that led to more being produced and now the entire collection is signed and framed in Land of Green Ginger ready for the Courthouse Street charity auction.” The proceeds from the auction will go to charity. The individual postcards are free to anyone who wishes to collect them, although you may have to look carefully to spot them.
