MORE than 20 greyhound owners and their pets descended on Alexandra Park recently as part of a series of monthly strolls.
Members of the Brighton Owners Association Retired Greyhound Trust met with the public as part of a meet-and-greet exercise to raise awareness of how greyhounds are taken care of after their racing careers end.
Mike Trim, organiser, said: “Twenty-seven retired greyhounds and their owners met for the first stroll in the park.
“These regular walks, which take place every second Sunday of the month, give owners the opportunity to tell the public just how good these gentle giants are as pets.
“If you can’t make a Sunday stroll why not join us for our stroll in Bexhill on the third Saturday of each month?
“Since 2005 the trust has rehomed more than 1,000 retired greyhounds.”
