Greg at St Mary's Special School

MP Gregory Barker was in St Mary's Special School in Bexhill on Wednesday in order to congratulate principal David Cassar who won the Services to Education prize at the recent Bexhill Achievers Awards.

The school also won the Charity of the Year Award at the ceremony earlier this month.

The school which not only provides an education but also nursing, therapy and care for its students.

Gregory said: "This school is one of the town's greatest assets. Many people will be surprised to know that it is our second largest employer. However, few will be surprised by the wonderful care and encouragement that the students here require. It really is an inspiring place and their Bexhill Achiever Award is richly deserved."
