A GIRLS’ sports group has reached the final of the National Lottery Awards 2013.

Us Girls, led by StreetGames, is one of more than 900 good causes from across the UK nominated in this year’s awards. The group is competing against six other projects for the title of Best Sport Project.

Cllr Emily Westley, the council’s lead member for leisure and amenities, said: “Us Girls in Hastings has given sporting opportunities to so many young girls in town. These female-only activity sessions focus on fun, fitness and friends. Us Girls need your votes. Vote for them before July 24 and they could win and receive a £2,000 cash prize to spend on their project.” To vote for Us Girls call 0844 836 9711 or log onto www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/project/us-girls.
