A ‘vulnerable’ man who was reportedly assaulted by two girls in Hastings is being sought by police.

The middle-aged man was punched and kicked by the girls as he headed for a bus in Wellington Square just after 11pm on Wednesday, April 6.

He was knocked to the ground and his hat was stolen.

The person who told police about the incident said the victim appeared vulnerable, but when they spoke to him he said he was not injured and left.

The victim has not made a report himself, but police want to make sure he is okay and is not being subjected to other attacks.

Checks were made with the Conquest Hospital but it had no admissions matching the circumstances.

Officers urge the man or anyone who knows him or has information about the incident to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or call 101 quoting serial 1540 of 06/04.
