AN overjoyed bingo player has scooped almost £23,000.

Gina Smith, 50, of St Leonards, has been playing the game at the Deluxe Bingo Club for three years with friend Mary Oakman.

She said: “I couldn’t believe it and it’s only just started to sink in. It was a very nice surprise. My daughter is having a baby soon, moving house and getting married so I hope to help her out. I’m also going to share the money out with Mary, my son and the rest of the family.

“I’ve been playing bingo on and off for years and years but started going to Deluxe three years ago with Mary.”Gina is due to receive the cheque for £22,620 any day now. Another St Leonards woman at Deluxe won a £12,490 share on the national bingo game and another £2,594 of regional and in-house prizes just 10 days before Gina’s win.
