A SCHOOLGIRL has landed a dream role starring in a prestigious ballet production.
Georgia Duckett, of Railway Cottages, St Leonards, beat more than 60 other girls in auditions to land the role of Lady of the Hunt in the classic ballet Giselle.
The 12-year-old, who goes to Filsham Valley School, has been practising ballet at Oakhurst Dance School in Battle Road since she was five.
The production she is performing in is by English Youth Ballet (EYB) which started at the Connaught Theatre in Worthing, West Sussex yesterday (Thursday) and runs until tomorrow (Saturday April 30).
Georgia, who hopes to become a dancer teacher when she leaves school, had to attend a highly-competitive audition run by EYB and was one of the lucky ones to be hand picked.
All of the dancers starring in Giselle are aged from eight to 18 and are playing the roles of scullery maids, huntsmen, wood nymphs and wili spirits who lure men to their deaths.
Georgia’s proud mum Nicki said: “Georgia is loving every minute of it. This is a brilliant experience for her.
“She has starred in local shows with her dance school but this is the first big role she has ever done.”
