The Hastings Gang are back on stage at the White Rock Theatre this week celebrating their 50th Gang Show.

Director of the show, Kitson Wellard says the performers are more than ready to entertain in the only way the Gang Show can. “Every year you enter the theatre with great anticipation, as to what the young people of our town will have in store for us,” he said. “This 50th year I can confirm they have excelled themselves through performances and the enhanced stage effects.

“All the cast perform the pieces adoringly and with great enthusiasm and a smile on their face.”

Kitson says the choreography sees some talented dancing throughout the main numbers from tap and ballet to modern street dance. “There is something for everyone and some very strong performances from the very young to adults alike.

“This year we see a show of real variety with something that everyone will enjoy. The youngest members of the show excel in their Disney Frozen tribute, with some stunning solo performances backed with amazing dancing snowmen and special effects to match.”

Large entire cast performances include songs from a variety of blockbuster shows Singing in the rain, Hairspray, Jersey boys, Copacabana and Sister Act.

Kitson added: “The Production team has worked tirelessly getting this production to stage. To name a highlight this year is difficult as the show illustrates such variety and talent from start to finish, however, to end the first half the entire cast performed a compilation of items from the last 50 years to music. The cast performed this with great enthusiasm and the costumes from every year make the stage come alive with a nostalgic theme.”

The Gang Show is suitable for all the family and Kitson promises it will leave the audience dancing in the aisles and wanting more. “This show is definitely not to be missed,” he said. “Once you have seen one, you will come back for more, like hundreds of our lovely supporters do every year!”

Performances are this Thursday Friday and Saturday (November 26,27 and 28) at 7pm. There is also a matinee on Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets cost £12 for adults, £9 for concessions and children and are available at the Whit Rock Theatre box office 01424 462288 or
