A YOUNG man was knocked to the ground unconcious by a group of thugs after buying a kebab during a night out.
The 20-year-old victim was walking along Cambridge Road around 2am on Sunday when he was approached by the five men who came from the direction of Cambridge Gardens. They were in their late teens, four white and two mixed race.
The men then set about punching and kicking the victim until he fell to the ground unconscious. When he came round he alerted the emergency services and at the same time realised his Iphone had been stolen.
Detective inspector Rob Morland, from East Sussex CID, said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack and I would appeal to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows who is responsible to please get in touch as a matter of urgency. The victim did not sustain any long term serious injuries but is very distressed by the attack and was treated at hospital for severe bruising to his face. If you have any information that could help officers with their enquiries then call 101 quoting serial 150 of 23/6 or alternatively leave a message with the independent charity.”
