Fourth man charged over woodland hammer attack

A FOURTH man has been charged after a man was attacked with a hammer in Brede High Woods on September 19.

Sam Simon, 21, of Earl Street, Hastings, is charged with robbery and false imprisonment in connection with the incident when a 21-year-old man suffered serious injuries.

Simon was due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday September 28.

Two men and a boy have already appeared before magistrates in connection with the matter and remanded in custody.

Artur Oganesyan, 22, a student of Stanley Road, Hastings and Melik Yelcin, 19, unemployed of Kenilworth Road, St Leonards-on-Sea have both been charged with false imprisonment and robbery.

They appeared before magistrates at Brighton on Saturday (September 22) where they were both remanded for trial.

A 17-year-old boy was also charged with false imprisonment and robbery and also appeared at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where he too was remanded.
