Floral delight at Walberton spring show

Almost 200 entries saw Walberton Horticultural Society's season get off to an encouraging start with its spring show.

The event contained 44 classes spread over five sections to provide members with the chance to display many high quality exhibits for the time of year.

The cut flower classes, accounting for half the total of the show, made a very colourful display. They were dominated by entries of daffodils and narcissi.

A large contingent of tulips, and other spring flowers, added to the wide range of colours on display.

Some excellent exhibits were also to be viewed in the pot plant section.

The floral art classes again demonstrated the great artistic skill and imagination of the exhibitors.

A small domestic section contained delicious cakes to reflect the dedication of the exhibitors. The small vegetable section attracted some excellent rhubarb entries.
