Flats evacuated after car crashes into building


Three flats were evacuated after a car ploughed into a building in Hastings yesterday (June 11).

Firefighters from The Ridge and Bohemia Road were joined by the technical rescue unit from Battle at the scene in Baldslow Road at 11am.

Crews freed one casualty from the vehicle into the care of paramedics and stabilised the building.

A building surveyor for the property owner also attended the incident.

Specialist equipment was used to remove the vehicle from the building.
