HUNDREDS of pounds were raised for charity at a fundraising five-a-side football tournament.
More than 100 people took part in the event on Easter Monday (April 9) at Summerfields leisure centre.
The event was in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and organised by a group of friends who are planning to cycle from Hastings to Barcelona in Spain and back non-stop in September. Their charity bike ride is dubbed Barcelona Boomerang.
James Beeching, one of the organisers, said: “There were more than 100 participants in this sell-out event. All participants and spectators had an amazing day and £500 was raised for the cause. The winning team was Flight of the Paper Aeroplanes and the runners-up were the Dazzlers.
“The use of the sports hall was kindly donated by Paul Wilson, centre manager of Freedom Leisure and we were also presented with £400 by a kind player and supporter, Richard May, who we owe a big thanks for his generosity.”
