Firefighters were called to rescue a dog which got stuck in a metal gate this lunchtime (August 4).

It is believed the animal was a rescue dog and tried to bolt but ended up with its head wedged in the gate at an address in Vale Road.

Hastings fire crews arrived at the scene just after 12.20pm and bent the bars to released the hapless hound.
