Firefighters using eight breathing apparatus brought the blaze under control and were on the scene until 12.15am.

It is not known yet how the fire started but it was accidental and not suspicious say the Fire Service.

A fire service spokesperson said: “The building was smoke-logged and there was extensive smoke damage.

“We would remind people of the importance of installing smoke alarms and checking them regularly.”
