Fire breaks out in Hastings house

A fire broke out in a three storey house in Hastings on Saturday afternoon (July 11).

Five fire engines were sent to the scene in St Mary’s Road at about 4.20pm.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said crews used two hose reel jets to tackle the blaze in the first floor of the building.

At around 7pm the fire service said the fire had been extinguished and a ventilation fan was used to clear the smoke.

There were no injuries, the fire service said.
