Fire breaks out at home near Rye

Firefighters have been called to a house fire in Brede this morning (Sunday, September 13).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed four appliances were sent to the fire shortly before 11am.

A spokesperson said: "The service was called at 10.53am to reports of a curtain alight at the house on Cackle Street.

"There are no reports of injuries.

"Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area."

According to traffic reports, the road is blocked both ways.
