Festive treats were served up by shops and businesses staying open specially for the occasion and village organisations set up stalls to raise funds for their work.

There was brisk business at the library, where a bag of books could be bought for 1, and staff served up mince pies while popular band the Elderley Brothers performed in the reference section.
