A FAMILY is taking part in a fundraiser for the charity Help for Heroes.
Cliff Morris, 58, of Ledsham Park, St Leonards, his 31-year-old son Robert, daughter Chloe, aged 25, and other son Kevin, 29, are participating in the Hero Ride 2014.
Last year Cliff and his daughter Chloe rode from the Sussex coast to London, raising more than £1,000 for Help for Heroes.
Cliff said: “For the route this year we are taking a small detour through northern France to Belgium and then to London. We will cycle to Portsmouth catching the ferry to Caen and to commemorate the 70th anniversary of D-Day we will visit the D-Day beaches and Pegasus Bridge. We will then pedal through France visiting the Somme battlefields and memorials, eventually arriving in Belgium at Ypres. At Ypres we will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War. From Ypres we return to England via the ferry from Dunkirk to Dover. Then we cycle onto London, meeting the other participants of the Hero Ride at Blackheath on June 8.” To donate visit www.bmycharity/the1066crew.
