THE Luck family is keen to make the Peridot Ball a night to remember and at the same time raise as much as possible for two charities close to their heart.

Hayley Luck, of Parker Road, along with husband David, and daughters Nicole Luck, Kylie O’Neill, and Aimee Holland, and her husband Paul, are behind the event, which is to take place this August.

The two charities which will benefit are The Prostate Cancer Charity, and the Stroke Association.

Hayley lost her mother-in-law Shirley Davis to a stroke several years ago, and her father Alan Medhurst to prostate cancer suddenly last year, and it was this that spurred on the family to organise a charity event.

Hayley said: “When we lost Dad it really had quite an effect on us, and we wanted to do something.

“My Dad loved a good dance, and we wanted something fun. Something where people would say ‘that was a really good evening’.”

Not just another charity event, the family want theirs to be stylish, hence the name Peridot - the gem stone for August, and with plenty to offer the guests.

The event is set to take place at Leeford Place Hotel in Battle, on August 31, from 7pm.

As well as champagne and canapes on arrival it includes a two-course meal, luxury raffle and auction, live music, and a disco until late.

They have been working on the details since February, and are making good progress. Among the prizes are a Manchester United football signed by the team, a stay in the Leeford Place bridal suite, a beauty package, and tea for two at the De La Warr Pavilion.

Tickets are £28 and are available by calling 01424 712875 or 07818 508469 or emailing hayleyjluck@yahoo.co.uk.
