AN EVENTS team and stage managers are being recruited ahead of Dutch street theatre company Close Act’s performance on The Stade.
Produced in association with GDF and MSL Projects and part of the London 2012 Festival, as well as the Stade Saturdays programme, the fantasy spectacular, ‘Pi Leau’, combines acrobatics, dance, music, pyrotechnics and theatre to create an underwater world of whales, mermaids and deadly fish.
The Events Team will be responsible for getting together hospitality to welcome the 35 strong Close Act company to Hastings, managing guest receptions and undertaking audience research.
A special team of 18 assistant stage managers is also being recruited to work with the performers on the show.
For those interested in production and the technical aspect, there will be a chance on June 22 to observe the ‘get in’ and production build and talk to Close Act and GDF production, and technical directors.
The events team will meet tomorrow (Saturday June) from 11am to 1pm. To get involved contact Helene@margaretsheehy.com.
For a taste of Close Act’s evening performance catch the parade, which starts in Hastings town centre at 12noon, and makes its way to Alexandra Park at 3pm. Celebrating Hastings’ traditions of street performance, members of the Close Act company will be leading an all day rehearsal and workshop on Thursday, June 21 for local performers and drummers (bring your own drums) who want to take part in the Town Centre Parade.
