Gwyn Williams Farm Diary March 16

Where is the spring? Cold winds are turning the pasture greyas low temperatures prevent any significant grass growth.

The extensive dairy farmers in the west are in trouble, as the grass is not there for their spring calving cows and their silage stocks are minimal.

The seaons seem to be slipping, as autumn extends into winter, winter now seems to continue through March. The days are lengthening considerably though and we will suddenly burst into spring, I expect. I sincerely hope so.

Dramatic developments in the milk industry last week as Asda slashed its price.
