Farm Diary by Gwyn Jones

Leading scientist and clinicians brought together by the charity 'Sense about Science', pointed out that there is no foundation to the 'detox' industry's claims, despite their emphasis on 'natural' treatments. As they quite rightly say, we have a liver, and we have kidneys, and their effectiveness is seriously underestimated. Give them a hand by all means; drink some tap water.

Oh dear, that is so un-cool. We want to believe that we have overindulged, we want to pretend that we need to 'detox', and most of all we want to follow some magic poison which is highly recommended by some 'Big Brother' candidate. The wackier the better! We are in serious danger of all this self-loathing becoming a real problem.
