East Sussex County Council had been offering “intensive support” to management at a Hastings nursery which has been suspended by Ofsted.
Tiny 1s Day Nursery, in Langham Road, has been closed for a week by the government’s regulator.
A council spokesman said: “The decision to suspend the registration of Tiny 1s Day Nursery was taken by the regulator, Ofsted.
“Since the Ofsted report in June which ranked the nursery as inadequate, the county council has been providing intensive support to the management, however further concerns have been raised about the quality of the nursery, which Ofsted have acted upon by suspending the nursery’s registration to operate.”
The spokesman said the county council did not currently fund any early education places at Tiny 1s but offered the following advice to parents: “Our Information for Families team is able to provide support to any parents who need to find alternative provision as a result of the suspension and can be contacted on 0345 608 0192.”
