Engineering work affecting weekend rail services

Engineering work is affecting a number of rail services in Sussex this weekend.

Today (Saturday, September 5) and tomorrow, work on the line between New Cross Gate and East Croydon/West Croydon, will see line closures and diversions.

The Gatwick Express will be affected all day Saturday and up until 8.30am on Sunday, with a revised timetable in place.

London Victoria to Gatwick Airport trains will depart on the hour and 30 minutes past each hour.

Gatwick Airport to London Victoria trains will depart at 05 and 35 minutes past each hour.

Meanwhile Thameslink trains between London Bridge and Brighton will not be running on Saturday.

Trains between Bedford and Three Bridges are extended to run to and from Brighton and passengers should use alternative trains between London Bridge and East Croydon.

Southern services between London Bridge and Tonbridge/Reigate will not run on Saturday. A shuttle service will run between Tonbridge and Reigate.

On Sunday, trains will only run between Redhill and Edenbridge. Passengers should use alternative trains between London Bridge and Redhill and replacement buses between Edenbridge and Tonbridge.

And anyone heading into London this weekend should also expect potential delays and alterations to London Underground services with planned engineering work taking place on the Central Line and District Line.

London Overground trains will not run between New Cross Gate and Crystal Palace/West Croydon.
